DIRECTOR OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY SERVICE
The Department of Housing and Community Services provides an affordable housing involved in land development, housing construction and property management. Our work contributes to social and economic growth. The department focuses on provision of social services
Department’s Overall Functions
i) To provide affordable housing and coordinate partnerships with stakeholders in servicing of land.
ii) To provide social and recreational amenities.
iii) To support and promote education.
iv) To provide and maintain burial space.
Department’s Sections
Housing section:
1. Administer allocation of residential stands and housing units
2. Process tenure documents for residential properties
3. Maintain registers for residential properties
Estates section:
1. Administer allocation of all non residential stands and work spaces
2. Process tenure documents for non residential properties
3. Maintain registers for non residential properties including temporary permits for operations on council land.
Welfare section
1. Provision and management of education facilities
2. Provision and management of recreational facilities
3. Provision and management of public amenities
4. Coordinate social welfare programmes for special groups members of society
